Ludo, Carrom Board, Chess Are Haram?

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Ludo, Carrom Board, Chess Are Haram?

Answer : Now A Days Many People Play Indoor Games Such As Ludo, Chess Carrom Board And Many Islamic Scholars Said That These Games Are Haram In Islam So What Is Truth I Will Prove In Light Of Sahih Hadiths May Allah Help Me.

Hadith No 1 :

Translation :

"Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Said Who Ever Play "Nard" So It Is Like He Dip His Hands In Pig's Blood"

Reference : Sahih Muslim Hadith No 5896, Miskat Un Musahabi Hadith No 4560

In This Hadith Word "Nard" Is Present Whom Many Of Islamic Scholar Translated Into Dice And Then These Islamic Scholar Said Nard Word Means Dice Then Ludo Is Haram Who Ever Play Ludo This Hadith Is For Them And The Games Which Are Similar To Ludo Like Chess , Carrom Board , Cards Etc Are Also Haram But What "Nard" Really Means 

"Nard" Which Is Also Called As Narde Or Nardshir From Middle Persian Is A Table-Style Board Game Of Two Players In Which The Playing Pieces Are Moved According To Roll Of Dice. It Is Similar To Backgammon In That It Uses The Same Board But It Has Different initial Position And Rules.

This Is The Game For Which Prophet (SAW) Said These Words And Our Islamic Scholar Just Didn't Open Up The History And Just Committed That Ludo Is Haram. 

But It Is Really Haram When We Put Bet On This Game And Betting Is Haram So That Is Why It Become Haram And Not Only Ludo Every Game On Which We Bet Will Be Haram.

Hadith No 2 :

Translation :

"Harzrat Ali (RA) Said That Chess Is The Betting Game Of Non Arabs"

Reference : Shuabul Eman Imam Al Bayhaqi , Miskat Un Musahabi Hadith No 4510 

Many Islamic Scholars Quote This Hadith To Make Chess Haram Because Betting Is Haram In Islam So They Declare Chess Haram But What They Don't Realize That The Chess Is Not Haram The Betting Is Haram And Even This Hadith Is Not Authentic And Even Sheikh Zubair Ali Zai (RA) Said This Is Daeef Hadith And Not Authentic And It Is Daeef Because Imam Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Hussain Al Baqar Narrated This Hadith Directly From Hazrat Ali (RA) And Imam Baqar Never Met Hazrat Ali (RA) Because Imam Muhammad Is Son Of Imam Zain Al Abadeen And Imam Zaid Al Abadeen Is Son Of Imam Hussain And Hussain Ibn Ali Is Son Of Ali (RA) Imam Baqar Came Later Even Imam Zaid Al Abadeen Never Met Ali (RA) So Imam Muhammad's Meeting With Hazrat Ali (RA) Is Not Authentic So This Hadith Is Daeef.

There Is Not A Single Authentic Hadith In Which Chess Name Is Mentioned And Is Declared As Haram  So No Game Is Haram Until You Put Bet On It. And If Even After This Any One Says That It Is Haram So I Would Like To Ask Them That Cricket Is Halal Game For Ever One But Even Cricket Become Haram When We Put Bet On It So Why Don't You Say Cricket Is Haram Why You Say That It Is Halal.

And Even If We Put Betting On The Fight Of Swords And Spears It Will Also Become Haram Even After Prophet Use To Watch The Fight Of Swords And Spears But Without Bet But After Bet It Will Also Become Haram 

Conclusion :

                                      All Indoor Game Either Ludo Or Any other Game They Are Halal Until We Put Bet On It.
